Some of you may be surprised to see a post about Miss Piggy in a style blog. But the truth is, she has become very fashion foreword in her later years. She usually wears high profile designers to red carpet events (particularly Vivienne Westwood). She was even recently highlighted in an episode of Project Runway.
I was somewhat aware of this when I went to see the movie "Muppets Most Wanted" about a month ago. It took me a little while, but after the first few costume changes I was completely blown away by the costuming! I couldn't wait to see what Miss Piggy would be wearing next (not to mention the fantastic hair-do's)! I must also give an honorable mention to the stunning military costume on Tina Fey. It was perfect! The costume designer was Rahel Afiley, a relative newcomer to the hollywood scene. I couldn't find out a whole lot about her, but did manage to find a small interview with her that you can view here.
Look at how wonderful her accessories are, and the hair too! I would wear that outfit. |
Oh Tina Fey! How I love you! And you look perfect in military garb! |
Miss Piggy has always been an icon to me in my life. I remember receiving a beautiful and thrilling Miss Piggy doll for Christmas when I was about 6 or 7. It was my favorite possession for years to come. She is strong, unique and beautiful, and not afraid to stand up for herself; the perfect role model for any young girl. I am so glad she is "back" in time to be a role model for my own daughters!
Her wedding dress was honestly stunning! It took my breath away. |
Not surprisingly my favorite outfit in the film. Look at that wide collar! And it had a full, beautiful matching tweed skirt too! (I couldn't find a picture of the whole thing.) |
Morag, a creative, innovative post! I was fascinated, and agree with you--of course, on the TWEED!
